About Guisborough Priory Bowls Club

Click the highlighted text for more information.

Hidden away in a secluded corner of the market town of Guisborough, beneath a stunning backdrop of the Cleveland Hills, lies the Priory Bowls Club.

Located off Fountains Close, adjacent to the town’s Cricket club, the members enjoy spectacular views of the Cleveland Hills and surrounding countryside.

The bowling green is arguably the best in the area with the rest of the grounds kept in first-class condition by the members.

The club's initials GPBC are detailed in shrubs at the south end of the green in between the flourishing garden areas. This memorable feature of the grounds is appreciated by all those who visit the club.

Has Guisborough Priory got the oldest recorded links to lawn bowls in the area ?? Read more about the club in our Club History section.

Guisborough Priory Bowls Club is a friendly club where bowlers of all abilities are made welcome.

All of our members are welcome to play in any of our many Annual Club Competitions. In addition, we have a full programme of Friendly matches, Open competitions and a regular Monday afternoon organised social bowling session where all are welcome and where basic coaching is available.

There are excellent opportunities for members to play in the local leagues. We currently have teams in the EBA and the Cleveland League (which we have won 6 times out of the last eight years). In addition, we have teams playing in the Middlesbrough League, Teesside Ladies, the Cleveland League Triples and the Teesside Veterans league. Click Here to view the club Roll of Honour..
